MAGNT
was formed in January 2001 and has been evolving ever since. Realizing the importance of having a clear vision for the
organization, MAGNT’s active members decided to gather a group
together to create a vision. In June, 2002, we gathered for a Saturday
retreat at The Marsh Center for Balance and Fitness in Minnetonka. While
the sun shone brightly outside, we were inside going inward (small joke)
developing a collective vision for MAGNT. All who have been attending
meetings or receiving our e-mails were invited.
We began by reviewing our
purpose. We then made one
change to the purpose statement. The statement is now as follows:
MAGNT’s
purpose is to inspire people to clarify their vision of an awakened
world and take action in support of their vision. To do that we offer
activities that engage mind, body and spirit to expand consciousness. We
envision a world of awakened consciousness and believe that universal
spiritual principles offer tools for
building this world.
We were led in a
visioning meditation. During this quiet time we jotted brief notes of
thoughts and images as they came to us. After the meditation we posted
our thoughts and images on a Wisdom Wall. We then grouped our ideas so
that similar ones were together. |

From this we created a vision statement, or as
one of us put it, the statement “was revealed to us, as it seemed to emerge
magically from the discussion.”
Here is MAGNT’s vision,
stated in the present tense: MAGNT is a powerful catalyst for evolving consciousness in Minnesota. We
(MAGNT)
inspire, inform and empower people to create an awakened world.
The word catalyst means
that we continue to see MAGNT encouraging individuals to find their own
path for making our planet better for all. We provide stimulating ideas
but do not promote specific social or political actions. Evolving
consciousness means growing in awareness and spiritual maturity. An
awakened world is one in which a large number of individuals have
awakened, evolved or become enlightened, so that an enlightened
perspective governs all collective and individual activity.
In June, 2007, many of the same
people met to determine MAGNT’s goals for the coming year. Follow
this link to find out what is planned
for this year.
We continue
to hold regular meetings the second Saturday of each
month, each time with a conversational topic related to our purpose.
Attendance ranges from about 8 to 20 people. |
